Our Butterfly Garden is a bundle of 10 plants that will attract butterfly's to your garden, front yard, or where ever you decide to put these beautiful plants. Each garden comes with 2 of each plant, that will be between 1'-2' (ft) except the Daylily which is a bulb. State restrictions: CA, MS, SC
Black Cherry - Prunus serotina Deciduous Tree Zone: 3 Conservation practices: E, F, H, N, T Description: 50 ft high tree with a pendulous branched crown. Black Cherry will have profuse white flowers in the spring, and brilliant gold leaf color in the fall. Fruit from this tree is good for making wine and jelly, and is also a great food for wildlife.
Butterfly Bush - Buddleia davidi Deciduous Shrub Zone: 4 Conservation practices: H Description: 5-12 ft multi-stemmed shrub. This bush will have fragrant flowers July through the fall. Butterfly bush attracts butterflies. It should be heavily pruned in the spring and it tolerates most soils.
Ninebark- Physocarpus opulifolius Deciduous Tree Zone: 2 Conservation practices: E, N Description: 5-9 ft spreading shrub. May-June is has white flowers and in mid-Septemer is has a red fruit. It has a beautiful exfoliating bark. Ninebark tolerates full sun and dry conditions.
Common Lilac - Syringa vulgaris Deciduous Shrubs Zone: 3 Conservation practices: S, E Description: 8-12 ft leggy, upright shrub. In mid-May it has fragrant flowers.
Daylily - Hermerocallis - Stelle de Oro Zone: 3-9 Description: 12" high perennial. It has a flower that is golden in color and trumpet shape. Daylily is a highly adaptable plant. It will thrive in most soil conditions and will tolerate light shade. This plant is drought resistant, and almost disease free. Daylily also has an extensive root system that makes it an excellent plant for soil erosion areas. (We are in the process of getting the correct image of this flower. It is simplar shape to the photo on the left, with fuller petals and a bright golden color.)
